Logistics Control Technology

Creating efficient production sites by predicting and controlling logistics

Since most of our products are heavyweight, logistics costs inside and outside the production site are high. We will introduce OR technology used to realize safe and efficient logistics.

Features

Locomotive collision warning system

Background At the production site of metal products, tracks are laid in a mesh shape for the transportation of intermediate products. Since multiple locomotives are traveling in various directions, there is a risk of collision.

Results Based on the track information modeled using graph theory and the position and direction of travel of each locomotive, we constructed a system that derives the risk of collision and warns the driver. This ensured the safety of on-site logistics.

Allocation Planning System for Shipping Vessels

Background The number of berths is limited, but dozens of ships arrive per day, and holding them incurs costs. In addition, the transportation of products from the warehouse to the berth also incurs costs depending on the route.

Results By constructing a system that derives the optimal solution to this problem using the branch and bound method, it is possible to assign an appropriate berth to the ship, and costs have been reduced.
